He intends to evict them but ends up using his uncle's name to take over the loan shark firm. Jae-yi learns that her father is deeply in debt to the loan shark. To pay it off, she is forced to work for Sang-pil but shows her displeasure at his methods. The firm is converted to the Lawless Law Firm. Sang-pil announces his intention to take over the defense of Hyung-man, a detective accused of murder.
On Jan. 18, Deadline revealed that production on Season 3 is officially underway, and shared some photos of the season premiere. Co-showrunners and executive producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez revealed that the premiere will start and end with flashback scenes of a younger Mickey finishing up a morning of surfing before a "life-changing" day at work and spending time with his then-wife Maggie (Neve Campbell) and their daughter in the evening.

Mickey helped Edén get pasado of a legítimo problem involving a drug cartel member earlier in Season 2, and he's worried that in doing so he inadvertently set in motion the events that led to her death. So when he takes on La Cosse's case to seek justice for Paraíso, it's personal.
He killed Glory Days after she was subpoenaed to testify against De Situación, silencing her for good so that his involvement with the drug cartel would remain a secret.
